Blog Assignment 2
Did You Know? 3.0- A John Strange 2012 Version
This video informed me that our role in society is to be educators. It is shown that students in India have a higher IQ than students in the United States. Also, India has more honor students than the United States does. New technology is being created everyday. Technology is literally taking over people's lives. People send thousands of text messages, emails, and chat online everyday. All educators need to create a learning system where all students are able to gain knowledge of the subject matter.
Teachers in the United States need to step up and begin to really educate students on a level were everyone will understand the concept. Teachers make a impact on students lives. By making learning fun and by using different technology, teachers can raise the students IQ and knowledge. We do not need to sit back and let the people of the United States be deprived of knowledge. Teachers play a major part in students exceeding in life.

Mr. Winkle : Mathew Needleman
On Mr. Winkle's journey, he displayed that various places in the world have started to use numerous different technology. The only place he did not find using technology was in the school. Mr. Winkle said that he saw a computer in the school but the computer was just sitting there collecting dust. The main point of this video is that our school systems need to be caught up with the new technology that other companies are using.
Students need to be informed of the various technology that is out in the world. One day these student's are going to have to use these different technology and they do not need to be blindsided by how to use them. Technology can greatly expand someones knowledge. Teaching students by using some of these technologies just may help the student grasp the subject matter better. School systems need to catch up with technology or will soon be the ones collecting the dust.

Sir Ken Robinson: The Importance of Creativity
Ken Robinson displayed that creativity is important in life. The school systems are not allowing much creativity from the students. Teaching methods have stayed the same for years. Teachers stand in front of a room lecturing everyday. Every school day is basically the same routine for students. Creativity should be nurtured and valued. In school students are told that mistakes are wrong. Although, mistakes are not always bad. Ken Robinson said, "If a person is not prepared to be wrong, then he or she may not have the opportunity to come up with something original."
The teachers need to educate the whole being. Not all people learn in the same way, so it is a good idea to try different methods. Teachers can display the importance of creativity by being role models. The different arts and creativity is just as important as all the other subjects. Highly creative, talented and extraordinary people tend to think their not because there ideas are not valued in school. Our role is to allow students to use their imagination. Teachers need to open their students eyes to all the possibilities and career paths that life has to offer. Being creative can be the best part of someones life.

A Vision for 21st Century Learning
Teachers need to reevaluate their learning methods. We need to prepare the students for the future. Different technology has and still is being created that allows subjects to be taught through online games and lessons. When the students play the games online, they are learning without even knowing they are learning.
The teachers need to teach on a level that the students are able to understand, it can really boost the students knowledge. Teachers are mentors and are still there to guide the students through the lessons. The students will be having fun while still learning the subject.

Vicki Davis: Harness Your Students Digital Smarts
Ms. Davis displayed, that by just using paper and pencil only certain people will succeed. As teachers, we need to look at the students skills and use them. The usage of technology connects us to the rest of the world. Technology allows us to communicate with people around the world. Students can even work with other students around the world on projects and discuss school subjects. Teaching with the usage of technology can still accomplish covering the curriculum. Students can learn every subject matter by the usage of a computer and other technology.
By empowering the students with usage of technology, teachers can have a better classroom. The students are learning through experience. Today technology is being used everyday and in many different ways. We need to prepare the students to experience and gain knowledge in digital material. By allowing the students to use technology, we are preparing them for the future.

Blog Assignment 1
All about Allison Cullars
My parents brought me into the world on November 8th of 1990. I spent eighteen years of my life living in Dadeville, Alabama. I have a older brother named Justin and a younger sister named Kelsey. Thirteen years was spent attending Reeltown High school. While in high school I was in various clubs, such as Beta Club, Softball, Colorguard, played two instruments in the band, and show choir. In 2009, I graduated fourth in my class. My free time is spent relaxing with a book or with my fiance Collin Fields.
I am attending USA because the school is rated one of the top in Alabama. Also, I wanted to be close to my fiance. Nursing was my first choice for a major. I was in the Nursing Program for a semester and just found that the career was not meant for me. The reason I chose Elementary Education is because I love children and love making a impact on someone's life.
Randy Pausch: Time Management
Dr. Pausch taught me to break the tasks down to small steps and do the most important tasks first. A plan has to be done on different levels and it is not set in stone. When making a plan, a person should evaluate the possible outcomes of the situation. He said that "experience takes time and that there are no short cuts to perfection."
I learned that Dr. Pausch taught at Carnegi Mellon University. He appeared to be a inspiration to all age groups. Then, on July 25th 2008 he passed away with Pancreatic Cancer.

Penn State University: Time Management Exercises and Time Management
This site informed me of various tips on how to manage my time. The article made me realize that I need to make sure my study area is neat and not have any distractions. I need to study in short sessions and take breaks. When studying I need to concentrate on one subject at a time. Difficult assignments should be done when I am most alert. When I have free time I should spend it wisely. When I make a study plan I should set certain times to complete the tasks.
